AGONIA: Considering agony and comfort for the afflicted
In this poignant program of timeless medieval poetry set by modern composers, The Esoterics will perform Ned Rorem’s haunting cantata In time of pestilence, Alfred Schnittke’s devastatingly mystical Verses of repentance, and the lament and triumph of John Joubert’s Pro pace motets.
