Class FAQs

Who should enroll in Viva Vocalists classes?

Viva Vocalists is a great place for performers who have a music or theater degree and would like to increase the leading roles on their resume. Students who have singing experience but not much acting training also do well in our class. We welcome adult students who may have performed in the past and want to refresh their skills, and performers with theater training who wish to improve their singing.

What is required to sign up for a class?

We require an audition for each term of class for new students. Returning students may occasionally be asked to re-audition.

What skills do I need to succeed in Viva?

Ability to learn your music outside of class. We will provide accompaniment recordings and part recordings (by request). Practice and memorization outside of class are required.

I am ___ age, can I enroll?

Our classes are open to students ages 18-118.

How do you cast your shows/classes?

We celebrate non-traditional casting. We love to surprise our audience with new ways to view characters. We try to challenge the student while choosing roles that suit their current abilities.
